Day 11 - 1/2/12

I've not been up to much due to exams.

Well that's a lie, I lost a lot of money because I made the lay on the opposit thing to I bet, but I'll tell that later.

Anyway, the Petzschner V Raonic game came through on Betfair so a loss of £2.10.

I then bet on the Taunton 19th Jan for Dualla Lord to with £45 win at odds 2.38 and a lay of 46.36 at 2.36.
This came through on betfair so a loss of £0.96.

Then I bet my free £40 on the Catterick 20th Jan for £40 at 17.00 and a lay of £40.12 at 17.00.
I couldn't believe it but it came in on StanJames at 17.00 meaning I lost my free bet! Wounded! And on top of that I had £600 odd-ish in Stan James. So I had to wait a week before making any other bets as all my money was tied in Stan James.

Anyway, I then tried to go for the £50 free bet.

I bet on The Aussi Open final that Sharapova would beat Azarenka 2-1 for £50 at 5.0 and a lay at 5.0.
This came through on betfair so a loss of £2.50.

I then bet on the Liverpool V Man U game on the 28th Jan at 0-0, I was really stupid here as I got odds of 11 at Stan James and 9.6 at Betfair meaning I could of won £5 ish with the £50 bet but I stupidly layed £50 so a loss of £2.50.

I then bet on the Guinea V Botswana African cup of nations game on the 28th for £50 at 1.91 and a lay for £52.30 at 1.87. This came through on Stan James so a loss of nothing.

I then bet on the Bachinger V Van der Merwe game that Bachinger would win at odds 1.33 at a lay of £52.36 at 1.32, this again came through on Stan James so a loss of £0.26.

Now comes the really idiotic thing, I made a bet of 50.00 at 2.7 at the amount of goals in the Ivory Coast v Angola game that it would end under 1.5 goals. I then made a lay at 1.61 that it would end up OVER 1.5 goals. If there had been a 0-0 or 1-0 game I would have won a lot of money but as it was over one goal scored I lose on both accounts so I lose £50 at Stan James and £32.11 at Betfair so a total loss of £82.11.

I then made a bet of £53 at 3.00 for £53 and a lay of £56.45 (Because I had also bet on this game at 3.1 at William Hill for £5.50) at 3.15, it came through on betfair so a loss of £0.63. On the same game that the outcome would be a draw.

I then got the £50 free bet so I bet it on the Folkstone race at 6.00 of £50 and a lay of £48.78 at 6.2 that Portrait Royale would win. This came through on betfair so a profit of £46.34.

I also made a couple of free bets from other sites on the aussi open final at bwin and William Hill. So I won £3.35.

So for the day: -£91.06 + £49.69=-£41.37 loss
Total profit so far: £110.45-£41.37= £69.08 profit

Day 10 - 18/1/12

Hey all,

I think I aced my Introduction to Environmental Engineering today! Fingers crossed.

Anyway, not only that but I also made £28.50! Woo. I bet at 10 that the Wolverhampton V Birmingham City game would be a 0-0 draw and made the lay at 10.5 it was 1-0 to City so I scooped a tasty £28.50.

Just placed £40 that it will be 0-3 in the Raonic v Petzschner game at 19 and a lay at 18.16 of £42.

We'll see what happens.

Day 9 - 17/1/12

Hello,

Nothing much to report today.

Placed another qualifying bet on StanJames at 5 and 5.1 for £40 on the QPR v MK Dons game with a draw outcome, making a loss of £1.98.

I also made slight losses on the two games I left yesterday.
£2.17 and £1.75.

My free £30 bet should come through today but I have an exam tomorrow so am going to go to bed.

Sleep tight (though I doubt anyone is looking at this!


So for the day: -£1.98-£2.17-£1.75= -£5.90 loss,
Total profit so far: £87.85-£5.90= £81.95 profit.

Day 8 - 16/1/12

Hey,

I have my first uni maths test in 4 hours, really shouldn't be on here, but here I am. So my San Jose Sharks V Chicargo Blackhawks came through on Betfair with £19 profit.

I still have the £10 freebet in play and am waiting to recieve the £70 free bet from Bet770,

Okay, so I have recieved the £70 free bet and placed it on the Chelsea v Wigan game to be a draw at odds 4.5 and a lay of £68 at 4.9. We'll see how that works out.

The £10 free bet came through on betfair, minus commision, a total profit of £9.02.

Woo!

I just got £64.60 Profit from my £70 free bet! Score!
I also bet £35 that Wigan would be winning at half time at 8 and a lay at 8.4 which came in on Betfair so a los of £1.75.


I have also put two more bets on Stan James, one for £35 and one for £40. The £35 is to finish off my 3x£30 deal, I put it on the Aussie open, Lisicki v Voegele with Voegele to win at 6 and made a lay at 6 as well. I put the £40 on the Aussie open 1st round as well, Lisicki v Voegele again with Voegele to take the first set at 4.50 with a variety of lays between 4.2 and 4.8, the average being 4.487, so a very small arb!


So for the day: £19+£9.02+£64.60-£1.75 = £90.87 Profit
Total profit so far: -£3.02+£90.87 = £87.85 profit.

Day 7 - 15/1/12

I am back at uni! It's nice to be back with friends.

Okay, so I have wagered both my £20 bets at Stan James on the Inter Milan v Ac Milan game. I bet that they would draw at 3.2 and a lay at 3.35. I then bet the other £20 on Inter winning at half time at 4.33 and a lay at 4.8.
Okay, both my £20 bets came though. So that's a negative of £1 for each of them so a total loss of £2.
Plus, my £20 free bet has just come through. I have placed it on Chicargo Blackhawks V San Hose Sharks for a tie at 3.75 and a lay at 4.3.

So for the day:-£2 loss
Total profit so far:-£1.02-£2=-£3.02 loss
It is important to note that I have a £20 free bet, £10 free bet and a £70 free bet waiting to come through for me. So I am actually about £80-90 up. But will not record them until they come through.

Day 6 - 14/1/12

I have just signed up to Bet770 where they do a £70 return on a losing bet. So I deposited the full £70 and bet at 3.9 a draw in the Calgary Flames v Los Angeles Kings game this evening and (accidentally - was meant to put £65ish) lay £70 down at 4.2. The bet lost and so I made £66.50 on Betfair (so a loss of £3.50) and lost the money on Bet770 so I should be recieving a £70 free bet. SCORE!

I have also signed up to Stan James where I bet £10 on the Indiana Pacers v Toronto Raptors game that there would be more than 179.5 points scored at 1.91 and made a lay of £9.19 at 1.88 (yes a very small arb!). There was more than 179.5 points scored and so I made £19.09 on Stan James and lost the £9.19 at Betfair making me a total loss of £0.10.

I have placed the £10 free bet on Denver Bronkos to win against the New England Patriots at 6 and put a lay of £8.16 at 7.4. I know it's steap odds put it will get me back 80% because of the arb I had before so I am happy with it. Bet lost and so I made £7.75 at Betfair profit.
This was a bit of a woopsy because I didn't actually place my free bet... I know right! So I have just placed it again at 9 and a lay at 11.5. So that means I can cancel out that £7.75 profit. It is actually a £2.25 loss. But should get some of it back with this bet.

So for the day: -£0.10-£3.50-£2.25= -£5.85 Profit,
Total profit so far: £4.83-£5.85=-£1.02 loss But I am waiting on the free bet to come through. So will record the profit from that on tomorrow's entry.

Day 5 - 13/1/12

Hello again

Today was a better day, but I still made one slight unavoidable error which cost me a couple of bob but not much.

I opened an account with Coral and deposited £30, to claim my bonus I needed to bet £30 so I did on basketball with the New York Knicks to win against Memphis at odds 2.5 and a lay of 29.66 at 2.68, they lost and so I took £28.18, a loss of £1.82. I couldn't find any good odds (it was 2am) so I told myself to wait until the day time.

I then had an email from William Hill saying I had a £5 free bet on the aussi open tennis if I bet £5 on anything else, so I deposited £10 (minimum) and bet £10 at 2.62 on the New York Knicks tennis game again with a lay of £10 at 2.62 winning me £9.50 on Betfair so a loss of £0.5 but a free bet which I put on Djokovich winning the Australian Open with £5 free at 2.1 and a lay of £4.36 at 2.46 .

This morning I woke up and started looking around but couldn't see any good odds that started soon so I started looking at the Horses, I bet on Albahan at the Lingfield at odds 9.0 with £30 free bet (was originally 11 whilst I was making the lay it dropped down) I then made the lay at 11 for £30. The horse came second (uncomfortably close though!) and so I won £28.50 on Betfair.

So for the day: -£1.82-£0.5+£28.50 = £26.18 profit,
Total Profit so far: -£21.35+£26.18= £4.83 profit. Woo after a couple of set backs from me being a dopy twat I have managed to get myself in the plus with £4 ish still to come from the Aussie open bet.

Day 4 - 12/01/12

Hello again.

Today I came home to find Everten had lost to Tottenham, so after 5 days of waiting I got the profit from that and I can leave bwin behind.

In the end of a profit of 23.75 was made which I am quite pleased with.

I have signed up to Betware.com with a £25 SNR for £25 deposit.
Put a bet down on Portland to win against Orlando at the bookies for £25 at 1.69 and layed at 1.72 for £25.

Okay so this came in so a total loss of £1.25 which is expected.

Because of the low odds I still have a lot of float so I'm going to try and find a good'un for the other £25.
Found my first Arb! Just searching around in the football leagues for tomorrow and found a 15 on 1-0 at half time between FC Barcelona and Osasuna. With a lay of 13.5 so I places down £27.88 for a lay and we'll see what happens.
It only makes me an extra pound but I am still excited.

FUCKING BOLLOCKS!

Okay, so I've done it again, this my friends is a true masterclass on how NOT to go about matched betting.

I made a major error that cost me a lot of money by placing a bet on the
Halftime/Fulltime and making a lay on the half time score. Silly me. So I have
bet against my lay on betfair and placed a new lay for the original bet at odds
of 29 meaning I could potentially lose £21.82 for a stupid error. But if the half
time score iwas not 1-0 then I will make £20+ and with odds of 27 it was pretty lickly but alas, knowing my luck... it did, even though barcelona went on to win with two second half goals.

So for the day: £23.75 - £1.25+11.08-41.82=-£8.24 loss,
Total profit so far: -£13.11 - £8.24 = -£21.35 loss. I would like to point out that if I hadn't of spotted it I would have made £200+ but because I did I mitigated the risk of losing £300+ so I ended up losing £30 from Betway... Not happy.

Day 3 - 9/1/12

While I am waiting for my bwin to come through I have signed up for 188Bet which offers a £25 free bet for a loss but at the moment I am unable to deposit in to my BetFair account to cover any liability due to a server error so I will have to wait and see what happens.


Okay, so it is now the morning and I can deposit again.

I chose the Chelsea v West Brom reserves game at odds 5.3 for West Brom to win at 188Bet with the £25 I deposited.
I then went over to BetFair at lay odds 6.4. I know this is a big difference but I am cutting my losses at 188Bet, I would not reccomend them, they seem to have pretty rubbish odds and not that many sports options (What sort of a betting site doesn't have horses?).
Anyway, there was not enough people to match my lay at BetFair and so I had to increase my odds (I also got a bit of a decrease!) to 8.2! I know! So my total liability is £152.40 with a possible pay out of £177.40 and a possible payout at 188Bet of £107.50 plus stake meaning 132.50, so I stand to lose £20 if west brom win as well as the £25 free bet at Bet188 so that would NOT be fun! But I stand to win £44.90 if they lose... I think...

Well guess what... chelsea lost.
So that gives me in 188bet a grand total of: £132.50
And in BetFair I have lost £154.20

So for the day: -£21.70 loss.
Total profit so far: £8.59-£21.70=-£13.11 And I don't even get £25 for losing at 188bet.com because the bastards won. Lesson learnt today: make sure your bet can be matched!

Day 2 - 7/1/12

bwin was my first port of call today to take advantage of the free SNR bet of £25 with a £25 deposit and after depositing £25 I immediatly got down to it with a bet of £25 on Murray V Tomic with Tomic to win at odds 3.7 and a lay at 5 (rookie error again!).

Tomic (obviously) lost to Murray netting me £23.75 at betfair, a loss of £1.25, I then bet on the Premier League for Everton to beat Tottenham Hotspurs, at odds 6.5 and lay of 7 (A liability of £150) sadly I did not realise that this game did not take place till wednesday (5 days later!) Grah!
Therefore I will report to you again then! Or if I get bored I will maybe deposit a shit load more money in to my BetFair account and continue my rampage!

So for the day -£1.25=-£1.25 loss.

About a year ago I read something on The Student Room (an online forum for students) about matched betting and filed it away under "Something to do on a rainy day" well today I should have been revising for my university exams but instead for some reason or other got really
interested in this.
I read a lot on Money Saving Expert about the thing and thought I would take a stab at it.

So this is my diary...

Today I downloaded BetFair the online betting exchange and deposited £25, I then went to William Hill and deposited another £25. (This is all after a nice little present from the taxman to allow me to look in to money making ideas)! So I then went on to William hill
and looked at games starting soon and saw an NBA game from the Lakers vs Portland at 2.4 odds that Lakers would win. I placed £25 on this and a lay of £16 at 2.56 (so my liability was £24.96) on BetFair. Currently they have not played and are due to start in about 1 hour. I will report back later on today how they have done. Bonsoir tous le monde!

Okay, big mistake! I forgot that you only get your £25 free bet at BetFair if your first bet is a
LOSS, daaamn.
So last night the team I backed to win on WilliamHill lost meaning my lay bet on BetFair won. Damn him! But I have learn't from it!
So from that I lost the £25 at the bookies and won £15.20 plus my stake at betfair so with the £9 still in there I made a loss of £9.80. Stupid mistake.

Okay, new day (though technically still the same!)! I made a bet on William Hill with my £25 free (SNR-Stake not returned) bet on Sela to beat Raonic (tennis) at 4.4 odds and made the lay at Betfair at 4.5 for the same amount (in hindsight and reading a bit more I realised what I did with the lakers game was so unbelievably wrong it was rediculous, I made my liability the same as my bet... I know I'm a tool!).

So the guy who was odds on loser... lost.
From that I didn't lose anything at the bookies and won £19.64 at BetFair.

So for the day: £19.64-£9.8=£9.84 profit. Should have been £10 more but a moronic mistake by me cost it.
